- What data do you have about me and how do you obtain it?
The data we hold on you is collected primarily from you when you contact our company to book your vehicle into the workshop or to hire or purchase a vehicle. This data will include information such as your name, address, email address, telephone number(s) and vehicle registration. We will also hold your payment details which may include your debit or credit card details.
In the case of purchasing a vehicle we will also hold any information required for the purpose of a loan/credit agreement if this is your chosen method of payment.
We may also collect data from a third party such as credit reference agencies or fraud protection agencies.
- What do you do with my personal data and how do I know it’s secure?
Your data is used for example so that we can contact you to advise when your next service, MOT etc is due. We do not share your data with any third parties without your express permission. We are committed to keeping your data secure. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to ensure your personal data is protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Please note that communications over the internet ie emails are not secure unless encrypted. PSD cannot be responsible for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information this is beyond our control due to communications using this method.
- How long do you keep my data?
We keep your data for as long as you are our customer. And in the purpose of purchasing or hiring a vehicle for up to 6 years. This is a legal obligation for fraud and tax purposes only. Your data is stored securely and only shared with any legal bodies if necessary to do so.
- My rights and changing my preferences
You also have the right to request a free copy of any personal data we hold. This must be requested in writing and proof of identity must be supplied. We are then obliged to supply this information with 1 month.
*Where you ask us to delete your data there may be circumstances where we are legallyentitled to retain it.
